Cory Miller joined Torrey Smith Realty Company in 2015, with a passion to help others thrive in the community where he was born and raised.
Cory’s interest in real estate comes naturally, with both of his grandfathers and father having been Realtors. Growing up with those role models and learning to be a team player through his time as an athlete and watching his uncle, Mike Casey, break a few records on the basketball court, Cory realized at an early age the value of hard work and connecting with others. In fact, he made the connection with Torrey while playing pick-up basketball in a local recreation league. He knew he would wanted to land in a career and environment that was not only self-driven, but teamwork oriented.
Equipped with 10 years of experience in banking, he was ready to commit full time to helping home buyers and sellers in Shelby County. Cory’s father, Lowry Miller served as circuit court clerk as well as a high school baseball coach here in Shelby County, while his mother, Masha Miller, worked for Citizens Union Bank for 30 years. His wife, Mary Andriot Miller, is also a Shelby County native, and they are raising their two young children to share the same love for Shelby County that has been ingrained in their families.
Cory brings not only a love for his community to the closing table, but also a sound background in finance and business management, which he pursued as a major at the University of Kentucky. He offers a natural gift for listening to his clients and helping take the emotional weight of buying and selling a home off their shoulders. “It’s so satisfying to negotiate a solid contract and seeing a buyer know when they’ve found the right house for their family. Being able to be part of that journey is an honor, and I’m privileged to get to lead them through that process,” he said.
Cory sites the burgeoning popularity of the Bourbon Trail and Shelby County’s beautiful landscapes and friendly community as big factors in its continued growth. When he’s not working with clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, staying active and being involved in service opportunities in the hometown where he believes families can grow and thrive.
